THE CHALLENGE
The plan was functional. But it didn’t feel personal.
The homeowners approached VAULTORA after receiving an initial architectural floor plan for their new home.
The plan was functional.
But it didn’t feel personal.
The formal living room was large but unlikely to be used. The kitchen was positioned away from the family’s preferred outdoor connection. The home office was isolated from the areas where the family actually spent time.
The question became:
Could the house be redesigned around the way the family actually lived?
THE VAULTORA RESPONSE
Vaultora worked with the architectural planning to reconsider the interior experience before construction.
The objective was not simply to move walls.
It was to establish a hierarchy of spaces based on frequency of use, privacy, entertaining and family interaction.
The kitchen became the central organizing element.
The family room opened toward the backyard.
A flexible room was created that could function as a home office, guest room or future bedroom.
Circulation was simplified to give more usable area back to the rooms that mattered.

WHY EARLY INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE MATTERED
Several decisions that would normally have been made after construction drawings were developed much earlier.
By resolving these elements early, the architecture and interior could evolve together.
